¡HOLA!
I am a passionate teacher who loves working with kids of all ages! I look forward to meeting my students and learning more about them as the year goes on! Spanish is a beautiful language and gives us a glimpse of how awesome God made the world in which we live!

Where did you learn to speak Spanish?
I learned to speak Spanish when I was in college. My junior year I decided to study abroad in Dénia, España. I lived with a Spanish speaking family for 6 months while attending the local University. I took many classes in those 6 months such as Advanced Grammar and Conversation, History of Spain, and Spanish Art History. All my classes were in Spanish! It was a very fun, yet challenging experience for me. I not only learned a lot about Spain and how to speak Spanish, but I also gained a better appreciation for the world that God made. I learned to worship God in a new language and it was awesome! I love seeing God's hands at work in Spain. Studying abroad opened my eyes to how awesome our God is and the world that He made.
A year later after my semester abroad in Spain I decided to go on an Interim trip through Calvin College to México. I had the opportunity to travel to Mérida, México for one month with a group of 15-20 college students. We went down to México to run a variety of sport camps at the local schools, churches, and clubs. I was able to combine my passion for Spanish and love for sports by coaching/teaching volleyball in Mérida! Along with coaching, I also took some classes at the University in Mérida to understand more about Méxican history and culture. We visited many museums and even got to see the Mayan Ruins.
Both my experiences in Spain and Mexico allowed me to experience a new way of life. I learned a lot about myself through my travels. I can honestly say that it humbled me and made me celebrate diversity in a way that I never knew existed. God opened my eyes to see His creation through a different lens and I couldn't be more grateful.
A little about yourself...
I come from a family with 3 older brothers and 1 younger sister and grew up in Hudsovnille, Michigan. I have been married for 6 years. My husband Brad is a teacher and teaches middle school Science at Hudsonville Public Schools. God has blessed us with two amazing daughters! Bria is 2 years old and Jada is 10 months old. Having kids has been one of the greatest blessings that God has given me. I love to spend time with my family! I also have a love for running and volleyball. When I am not teaching or spending time with my family, I am usually going for a walk, roller bladding, running or playing volleyball with friends.
One of my favorite Bible verses....
“Ama al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, con todo tu ser y con toda tu mente.” Mateo 22: 37
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." Mateo 22:37
